Are you really a cult hit horror movie if you don't have an asymmetrical horror game to call your own? The answer to this rhetorical question in 2024 is "no", and so Killer Klowns from Outer Space is doing something about it. Announced at Gamescom last year, the video game based on the late 80s horror comedy flick is on the way, and looking exactly how you'd expect in this new gameplay trailer.
Killer Klowns from Outer Space: The Game is a 3 vs. 7 multiplayer title, in which a trio of alien clowns attempts to take down a septet of civilians as they make their escape. It's very much in the same mould as Dead by Daylight, only with face paint, bigger shoes, and bright red noses. It launches on 4th June 2024, though we're trying to work out if it's coming to PS5 and PS4, or if the last-gen version isn't happening. The official website lists PS4, but this new trailer doesn't. We'll try and get to the bottom of that.

Of all the horror franchises to get a game, this was not one I was expecting. Cool though! Unfortunately I’m not really into these kinda games. I tried Dead By Daylight and just couldn’t get into it, but it’s great to see these games keeping these franchises alive and kicking.
I survived the Killer Klowns at Universal Studios Halloween Horror Nights, so that’ll have to suffice for me this time around!
More cheap asymmetrical horror IP garbage 🙄 (the movie is a blast, the genre is what's garbage). I would love if one day we were to get a single player game like Alien: Isolation but with Freddy or Michael.
The sad part is that there's probably someone at this very moment making a It and Child's Play asymmetrical multiplayer game because they could be made with pennies found inside the couch.
The hard part about these games are the licenses and support. Friday the 13th was great until Gun stopped support and the license went kaplooeey. Same with Evil Dead, they stopped support within a YEAR of its release. These types of games need regular balance changes from the devs in order to work properly. I actually love these games but I have very little expectations for their longevity anymore.
Another Friday the 13th / Chainsaw Massacre style game team vs team that hardly anyone plays and the servers are rubbish.
Loved this film when I was a kid.
